熱火本季第一場的主場熱身賽，面對籃網，為了緬懷同樣位在邁阿密的棒球隊，因為船難身亡的馬林魚投手JoseFernandez，在比賽開打之前，熱火全隊，穿的印有JDF16號的特製T恤進場熱身，而這場比賽，客場的籃網，還是要看林書豪的發揮，一開始被熱火打了7:0的攻勢，林書豪三分救火。
球賽主播：「林書豪投進三分球，林書豪NBA，7年待過6支球隊，上個球季在夏洛特黃蜂，雖然從板凳出發不過打出相當好的表現。」
林書豪本季轉戰籃網，重回先發掌控球權，第1場熱身賽面對活塞，就拿下全隊最高的21分，第2場出賽，還是維持同樣火燙手感。
球賽主播：「林書豪拿下這個籃板，然後自己運球過半場三分出手命中。」
上半場就投進2顆三分球，林書豪得分也來到雙位數，帶領籃網前兩節打完取得4分領先，不過林書豪在第3節後半段下場休息，籃網開始攻守失據，被熱火打出單節38:17的分數，戰局完全逆轉，林書豪在第4節再度上場，也無法追回差距，總計林書豪上場僅僅24分鐘，8投5中拿下全隊最高的16分，也送出5次助攻，外帶3籃板以及1抄截，最後籃網100:121，慘輸熱火21分，吞下熱身賽二連敗。（民視新聞張鎮麟、游博智綜合報導）
